Upon notice to proceed, rapid deployment team mobilized to Kandahar, Afghanistan, within 48 hours. Included critical design-build project elevated eight FOBs from austere outposts to robustly functioning military bases by increasing life support, logistics, billeting, and power generation capabilities at KAF and Tombstone (Leatherneck), Wolverine, Frontenac, Tarin Kowt, Spin Boldak, Ramrod, and Dwyer. During execution of this task order, site populations increased by 43 percent and more. A full range of design-build services were executed at each FOB to include site surveys, site preparation, computer-aided drafting and design digital drawings (CADD), construction management, procurement, logistics, operations and maintenance, and commissioning and start-up. Designed and constructed a hospital, barracks, MWR facilities, DFACs, administrative facilities, aircraft facilities, perimeter fencing, roads, bridges, security and fire protection facilities, and warehousing and storage facilities with both permanent and pre-engineered structures. In addition, constructed nine 600-person US Army Force Provider modules and two US Air Force Harvest Falcon modules at FOB Tombstone, which Seabees were occupying 10 days ahead of schedule. Evaluated and renovated/repaired all existing hard-standing buildings to a safe and livable condition for arriving military personnel. The eight sites included 13,123 re-locatable buildings, 16 dining facilities (DFAC), 106 pole tents, and 21 Alaskan tents. In a 3-month period, Fluor mobilized 375 expat personnel to multiple construction locations and mobilized 62 pieces of heavy construction equipment. $638 M dollar TIC.
