Provided support for a wide range of Valutec's systems including on-line transaction processing (Java, Microsoft SQL Server 200/2005, transactional replication, mirroring), web sites and web-based transaction processing (IIS, ASP, ASP.Net, web services, SQL Server integration), billing processes, Vertex sales tax system integration, and more. Key team member for SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 database upgrade, and for the migration of Mellennia systems from Portland, OR to Nashville, TN. Provided technical training to many third parties seeking to integrate e-commerce websites or shopping carts with Valutec's web-based transaction processing interfaces.

(PWADC): Maintained, enhanced, and supported the Retail Price Management Software (RPMS) used by the company to allow all Piggly Wiggly stores to interact in establishing store pricing for their products while taking advantage of pricing updates, deals and promotions, and other pricing information controlled by PWADC. RPMS is a VB6 application with a Microsoft Access back end, and uses FTP for bi-directional communication with PWADC.

Key customers and activities include:Valutec Card Solutions (www.valutec.net): Contributed to administrative/billing/reporting systems. In 2004 became the account manager for the Valutec account, responsible for all aspects of software development, hosting, and support. Optimized Java-/Microsoft SQL Server-based transaction processing system to support sustained rates of 25+ transactions/second. Added rules engine to transaction processor to facilitate rapid deployment of new stored value card programs. Defined and led a project to completely rewrite the billing system (reduced time for monthly billing process from 20 hours to about 20 minutes).

Key customers and activities include:Computer Automation (www.computerautomation.com): Responsible for all aspects of design and development of an Adobe Acrobat plugin that integrates with the SEAS web-based special education forms program, allowing customers to manage their government-required paperwork online via PDF forms in a rich Internet application with full data validation, relationships, and auditing supported by the server system through the Adobe Acrobat plugin. Plugin is a C++ Acrobat integration DLL with a Delphi GUI.

Key customers and activities include:ANB Financial (www.anbfinancial.com): In December of 2005, moved into the role of project management for all application development projects for this flagship customer. Responsible for working with customer to define requirements, create all project documentation to comply with Federal regulations imposed on the bank, estimate and schedule projects, oversee and coordinate support.

Key customers and activities include:BudgeText (www.budgetext.com): Contributed to the development of the Enterprise Management System, a C#.Net WinForms application. Developed data binding components that wrap business objects built using a VeriSource-proprietary persistence framework, allowing the use of standard .Net data binding with those business objects.

Key customers and activities include:MediaCart (www.mediacart.com): Developed the prototype system for tracking cart location within the store (technology details protected under NDA), using C#.Net. Assisted with and supported early demonstrations to potential customers and investors. The efforts of VeriSource on the prototype and demos are credited with gaining massive customer interest and millions of investment dollars for MediaCart.

Involvement in all aspects of custom software development for multiple customers. Key customers and activities include:Visa (www.visa.com): Wrote the reference POS check application for Visa using C. The application runs on VeriFone Omni 3700 series of POS terminals, and clears checks at the point of sale using Vital Processing's (now TSYS Acquiring Solutions) POS Check interface.

As a member of the PACE team (tasked to create a unified payroll/billing/reporting system for the hundreds of diverse dedicated transport contracts), led the development of rules technology for PACE. Analyzed business logic domain and developed a grammar for expressing business logic rules. Designed and implemented a Java class hierarchy for persisting rules, and an API for executing them. Designed a Java GUI for creating and maintaining rules. Experience with Java, ILOG JRules, Gemstone/J Persistent Cache Architecture, bi-temporal data storage and retrieval, Rational Rose.

Developed, enhanced, and maintained a Payroll, Billing, and Reporting (PBR) application using Microsoft Access. Provided technical leadership of the PBR team and directed the technical growth of the PBR. Developed a rules engine. Experience with Microsoft Access, Borland Delphi, QMF (including Windows API).

Integrated, modified, and released real-time multi-process simulations on UNIX platforms; designed embedded software to integrate simulations with commercial avionics hardware in flight simulators. Experience with Fortran, C/C++, UNIX, Windows 95 and NT, Microsoft Office, Perl, SCRAMNet fiber optic real-time networks, VME, ARINC 429, custom domain-specific programming languages, automated data flow analysis of large software systems.

Provided customer support and developed user documentation for DataPacket, an IBM AS/400 report bundling application.

Worked on development of PC Tools 1.0 for Microsoft Windows. Wrote a Windows implementation of Eric Solomon's Black Box game using C++ and object-oriented programming techniques to teach myself C++, OO, and the Windows API.
