I’m Darrell Hesse, a Director who works with manufacturers to uplevel performance by building “1 Team,” creating a unified workplace culture that increases efficacy and fosters collaboration among employees, customers, and the community.I’ve lived and worked in three countries (US, UK, China), leading people from multiple cultures and backgrounds through complex projects on time and on budget. I believe people are the foundation of everything. Working together eliminates friction and gets people moving in the same direction. When this happens the knowledge people have individually is combined; we win regardless of the situation. My management approach: People + Velocity = Performance. While in the UK, I pulled HR and Finance directors together to collaborate and own how we move forward as 1 Team. This strategy supported growth through 2020 (Covid), balancing customer demands with the safety of our employees while complying with regulatory and statutory requirements. We went from nearly shutting the business down to ramping it back up to a run rate higher than before the pandemic. My VP said, “He appreciates the importance of building a strong team, developing people, holding them accountable, and upholding the culture and behaviors critical to our success.” Essential when supporting business growth from $33M to $62M in annual sales, requiring staffing growth from 75 to 210+.While working in China, I used my 1 Team strategy to win a Chinese client’s business, generating $3M USD in annual sales during the recession. Within 3 years of starting production, the customer earned 1st place for Chinese OEMs in machine sales for that application, in part from the way our product performed.I bring this same passion for setting high standards in my personal life too, from running marathons to home brewing, where I document, advance, and streamline my equipment and process based on data. For a team-focused leader committed to raising the bar, contact me at darrell.hesse@gmail.com.Specialties: project management, team leadership, continuous improvement, manufacturing, brewing, industry 4.0, capacity planning and throughput, CAPEX, budget administration, new product introductions, staff recruitment and allocation
