This role initially started with a six month contract as a Consulting Engineer. Working with the Optus/Alphawest project team to deliver an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud offering for Optus. I was the liaison between the beta customers and the project implementation team.The solution architect role followed on from the initial contract to do pre-sales of the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution. This involved working closely with customers, presenting solutions and helping them achieve their project goals.

IT on Tap delivered fully managed IT services to small/medium businesses, eliminating any need for clients to buy, manage or support their own computer systems.Clients were able to use all the same software packages that they're used to, just without any spam, viruses, downtime, maintenance, noise, security breaches, data theft or large unexpected bills. We call this "hassle-free IT".We also provided the solution to turn your business into a revenue generating machine, by integrating existing standalone products together. eg Website, Shopping Carts, CRM and Email Marketing all working together as one.This was a green fields project where we built the infrastructure in a datacenter with EMC SAN, IBM Blade chassis for compute and VMware as the virtualisation layer. We delivered the seamless applications direct to end users browsers utilising Citrix Technologies.I was responsible for all aspects of the service and products we delivered to end users and managed the technical team.
