Darrell Peeden holds his master’s degree in public policy from the School of Public Policy at the University of California, Riverside, where he was an Abraham Rice Scholar. He also graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a bachelor’s degree in public policy. In addition, Darrell holds an associate degree in business administration from San Bernardino Valley College. After high school Darrell co-founded Sigma Beta Xi, Inc. – a developmental organization for youth. Darrell also co-founded two for-profit startups: Trigeia, Inc., a media aggregation website, and Chips N’ Dip, a food manufacturing company which developed fresh food products. Darrell’s recent entrepreneurial endeavor was Retailrun, the mobile startup that won Startup Weekend Riverside in April 2013. Darrell Peeden was born and raised in the Inland Empire which fuels his personal interest in solving the issues Southern California and the Inland Empire face now and in the future.
