Telcordia Technologies is a leading global provider of telecommunications software and services for IP, wireline, wireless and cable networks.• Accelerated the deployment of new technology through the launch of an Army Center of Excellence for Net-Centric Data Strategy, which provides consulting services to Army organizations on data modeling and Service Oriented Architecture and REST development.• Improved the process for migrating DISA network inventory and order management systems to next generation systems through definition of common data elements across legacy systems and mapping of data elements to the new systems.• Increased the sharing of critical location data on the battlefield by chairing a DoD Blue Force Tracking Community of Interest (COI) that defined standards for data exchange and standard services. Coordinated the efforts of 30 COI members from US Military and Coalition Forces.• Simplified the management of communication networks by soldiers in the field by designing and implementing user interface screens and processes for the Army Brigade Combat Team Modernization (BCTM) program.• Eliminated unnecessary government expenditures by developing metrics and models for analyzing demand for enterprise services across the DoD and analyzing existing and proposed vendor solutions.

• Managed consultants who provided development services to MCC members. Emphasized information management and data mining in distributed heterogeneous environments. Oversaw long range planning, budgeting, and direction of daily activities. • Helped define long term goals for all of MCC and served as business and technical consultant to MCC research projects and MCC members.

• Provided consulting and products in areas of distributed agents and data mining. • Distributed agent product was based on implementation of the Actor Model and Linda Tuple Spaces to provide parallel implementation on multiple systems.• Delivered technical consulting to commercial and military customers in object-oriented database design, workflow management, data warehousing and data mining.

• Managed the Carnot Project, a research project that developed an architecture and a C++ prototype that used the parallelism of Linda Tuple Spaces to provide integration of heterogeneous databases and applications. Managed 13-15 researchers and a budget of $3M per year.• Launched the InfoSleuth Project that developed a Java based intelligent agent framework for locating, retrieving, and monitoring information. Developed goals for the new project, wrote a project plan, and marketed the project. Raised $7M to support the 2.5 year project from six commercial sponsors and two government agency sponsors. Managed a 10 person research staff. Left MCC in 1996 to launch Rosette Webworks.

• The ORION Project developed a high performance, fully distributed object-oriented database system. Was responsible for the design and implementation of multimedia information management, distributed query processing, version management, change notification, and authorization.• Designed and implemented a distributed heterogeneous query execution system for the Carnot project that translates queries phrased in terms of an enterprise model into a set of sub-queries against enterprise databases. Execution environment consisted of intelligent autonomous computing agents written in C++ and Lisp.

• Project leader for massively parallel relational database machine. Worked on technology for optical disk drives, speech recognition, text to speech and digitized voice messaging.

• Designed and constructed electronic equipment for sensitometric testing of film.
