My motivation for working in the mining industry is to manage a safe and efficient processing plant capable of achieving its goals. Ensuring targets are developed and communicated to teams is integral to a successful mining operation. I am committed to developing the people around me to ensure they perform their role exceptionally well and then grow as a valuable member of the mining industry. I recognise that both hard work and professional development must be focused on to create a career in mining and will work with individuals to realise their potential.This approach is reflected in my recent completion of a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education. I hope to use the skills I developed in the diploma to engage my colleagues in the mechanisms of a processing plant and develop their understanding of how they can use their ideas and initiatives to improve the process. Further to that, I hope to one day use my Graduate Diploma to work in a school environment to encourage students to be as passionate as I am about science and pursue a future in a science based career.
