It's that time; after 20 years of working in the accounting industry, I am taking the biggest step of my career so far and going it alone. My clients have ranged from the smallest of furnished holiday lets to household name charities, via many, many local owner managed businesses. My real passion is giving the owners and management of these businesses, meaningful insights in to how their business is performing and what changes could be made to help them achieve their goals. For most, this is an increase in profitability, followed by tax efficient extraction to grow personal wealth. Returning to my roots in a family practice based in North Cornwall guiding businesses of all shapes and sizes on various aspects of business advice, accounting and taxation. Having started out in another family practice in North Cornwall I know what individuals and businesses expect from their accountant. Business Services Manager with responsibility for a mixed portfolio of company and unincorporated businesses from individual start-ups through to corporate/family structures with turnovers exceeding £6m. I am the office lead on cloud accounting packages such as Xero and QuickBooks Online. I have firm wide responsibility for the iXBRL tagging of internal and third party accounts for submission to HMRC. I have gained corporate finance experience working with clients through Growth Accelerator and the Plymouth University/Western Morning News grant funding (PWGF) preparing business plans and cashflow forecasting.I also have responsibilities for business development and the promotion of Francis Clark in Exeter and the surrounding areas.
