I believe that a way to discover what you are passionate about is to reflect on what ignited a spark when you were young. For me, it was trains. When I was a kid, I would always spend my pocket money on collecting train books, games and toys. From that point onwards, I had built a genuine interest in how the railway industry operated. But as you can see by my credentials, my career has taken many different routes over the past 15 years. To begin with, I struggled at school and found it challenging to engage. Despite my struggle with education, I tried my very best to find something I was good at - I went from catering to travel & tourism, to shop floor work to warehouse work, all of which I enjoyed and learned a lot. No regrets. However, I hope to use this platform to pick up where I left off after my Track Maintenance, Railroad and Railway Transportation course at Trackwork. It was a fantastic opportunity, and upon reflection, this is the industry where I feel most fulfilled. The benefit of my whirlwind career is that I now have a variety of transferable skills and qualities, including:- Willingness to learn and adapt to new working environments with ease. - Reliability and flexibility – an experienced multi-tasker with the ability able to plan and manage time effectively.- Interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to maintain as well as encourage high morale and productivity.- Physical skills due to warehouse experience, including stamina, strength and awareness of health and safety.- Resilience in regards to working around deadlines and meeting targets.Outside of work, I love travelling, cycling and anything to do with Film and TV. I like to utilise my creative energy by scriptwriting too. Ultimately, I am hoping to pursue a life-long career in the Railway industry and want to use this platform to connect and communicate with those work in this field.
