Distribution Centre Manager - Palmer & Harvey Ltd, Coventry, West Midlands, 2012-2014Reporting to the Distribution Director responsible for managing all aspects of a 180,000 sq ft 24/7 multi temperature Distribution Centre through a Management team and 600 members of staff.Scope:130,000 outers per day delivered to 1000 Customers achieving delivery window compliance in excess of 96%.Controlling a £12 million per annum wage budget, £4 million expense budget and a £3.6 million Transport operating budget.Processing 27 million outers through our radial distribution network per annum and 8 million as a regional Chilled and Frozen trunking hub. Developing relationships with Customers and Suppliers to drive through cohesive results aligned to business partner profitability. Responsible for all H&S, Environmental and Food Safety standards on site. BRC Warehouse & Distribution standard certified. Achieved BS:EN:140001 standard. ROSPA Presidents Gold award accredited.

Joined Palmer & Harvey as a Planning Supervisor in 1989, I introduced the first computerised route planning solution in the Brandon D.C prior to incorporating the Production Department responsibilities to my portfolio. I was put on a Management trainee programme where I expanded my all round Distribution Centre knowledge before being appointed as the Buying Manager. Moved through Commercial, Credit, Customer Service, Stock Control and Operational Management roles during this period.
