Wind Turbine Technician
CurrentResponsible for the servicing Vestas 90’s as part of a team of Technicians.Performing wet service throughout the turbine including isolating the turbine and cleaning.Changing and reinstalling various types of lightning protection.Disassembling and reassembling of hydraulic station changing filters, oil and 0-Rings.Performing troubleshooting on turbines to identify and rectify faults.Ensuring correct nitrogen pressure in accumulators, changing and replacing grease bags as well as online and offline filters.Conducting small component and hydraulic oil exchanges.Carrying out servicing works scopes on Vestas V90 turbines, conducting safety inspections for the turbine basement, tower, nacelle and hub.Conducting pre use cheques on Avanti lifts and Daviti cranes.Removing and replacing inline/offline gear oil filters and checking oil levels are correct after this is completed.Replacing carbon bushes on high speed shaft and replacing lightning protection packs between hub and Nacelle.Replenishing grease for generator, blades and yaw clamps.Inspecting hub components and checking for leaks/defects.Removing and replacing grease waste bags from inside the blades.Replacing earth straps in the hub.Draining oil from hydraulic systems, allowing replacement of seals low/high pressure oil filters, replacing oil and checking for leaks/correct levels of oil. Checking pressure at designated points before components are removed.Providing sound and practical solutions, ensuring that all systems are successfully implemented in compliance with legislation whilst maintaining safe working practices.Ensuring the health and safety requirements and regulations are in place to avoid any potential risks in a working environment and keeping everyone safe from any risks or hazards.Complying with all relevant procedures and deliver high standards of safety performance during all operations.
