Profile bio

About Darren Abrahams

I’m a coach, therapist, trainer, singer and social entrepreneur, working internationally to support change making leaders navigate crisis while prioritising wellbeing.. My mission is to create a more connected, collaborative world in which everyone – regardless of race, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation or religion – can contribute the best of themselves to build a brighter future for our planet. To do that I work with change making people and organisations globally to help them share skills, build relationships and co-create solutions to issues that are important to them.I believe strongly that global change starts from the individual out and I’ve built two organisations to provide the resources and know how to support people to get started. In 2008 I co-founded The Starr Trust with my brother in law Rob Starr, a UK based charity removing roadblocks for young people aged 10-25 from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through the Trust I designed and ran entrepreneurship programmes in mainstream secondary schools bringing students, teachers and business mentors together to build social projects. In 2017 I co-founded The Human Hive with Kate McAllister, a social enterprise empowering change making individuals and organisations to regenerate People, Places and Planet. Born out of direct action in the Calais refugee camp in 2015/16, we now train, resource and support people all over the world to start their own grass roots community projects wherever they are, with a vision to empower 8 million change makers by 2030.Building on my background as an international opera singer I’m never far away from creative projects that also contribute to social change. I have worked closely with Opera Circus to create and develop The Complete Freedom of Truth, an international youth led project with the ambition to develop global youth citizenship through culture and the arts. I’m also a trainer and Wellbeing Advisor for Musicians Without Borders, an organisation that bridges divides, connects communities and heals the wounds of war using the power of music. In 2023 I co-founded The One World Orchestra with Jim Pinchen and Vicki Balaam, a high quality professional music ensemble, drawing on the expertise and musical traditions of diverse musicians from across the planet, living and working in the UK. I love nothing better than to collaborate with like-minded people and to create exciting new projects that bring people together who would never otherwise meet. I really look forward to connecting with you.

Listed skills include Performing Arts, Theatre, Singing, Music, and 45 others.
