Darren has been playing drums professionally since 1991. In that time he has performed with The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO), The Drifters (also as musical director), in various West-End musicals(Mama Mia/Joseph) and with pop artists such as The Backstreet Boys, Westlife, Will Young, Phats and Small, Sean Paul, Will Smith, Joss Stone, Lucie Silvas, Lionel Richie, Chaka Khan, Shola Ama, Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Guthrie, Romina Johnson, Beverley Knight, Angie Stone, Roachford, Kelle LeRoc, Alex Holland, Me’sha Bryan, Omar, Roy Ayers, Larry Carlton, D:REAM, Dub Pistols and Laura and the Tears.Darren is an professional session musician, recording for clients in his own purpose build studio.Darren is very active in the education field delivering private and group classes as well as interactive masterclasses to drummers of all levels at music schools across the country.Darren is an active member of the drum faculty at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Kilburn, London, the BIMM Institute in Birmingham and privately both in person and online via Zoom/Skype at his studio where he teaches all aspects of drum performance.Darren was also the founder of Drum Lesson Academy, an online resource of quality education for drummers of all levels.
