Designed and built a new system to deliver and receive language assets in the file domain migrating from a legacy DAT based system to file based workflows with massive savings in opex. Architected, developed and delivered the Discovery EMEA VOD delivery platform serving over 25 clients in multiple file formats, languages and metadata packages. This significantly lowered the entry cost for media re-purposing and eliminated legacy tape dubbing and distribution costs.Designed, developed and delivered the file-based workflows for aggregation, tracking and delivery of EMEA broadcast commercials via direct file ingest, integrating with 7 content vendors. This removed over 90% of the tape ingest costs associated with commercial traffic and reduced turn around times for Ad sales by 50%.Led and mentored a team of professional engineers in the design, installation and ongoing support of Discovery’s Post Production facilities in London. Designed and specified the business management, scheduling dialect and system architecture for Discovery's on-air branding system for 35 channels (Scheduled in IBMS).

Designed 15 channel remote ingest and playout system for the Tata Sky DTH project in Delhi, India. This playout system allowed 2 contribution channels fed from Hong Kong to be turned around into 15 branded entertainment and NVOD channels. Led and mentored a team of 6 Developers from Bangalore in developing applications for NDS / Ericsson Set top box middleware for Tata Sky (now Tata Play)Designed the playout chain for the launch of Nat Geo HD, the first HD channel in Hong Kong. The project was delivered on time to within 1% of the project’s capex budget.Key systems architect for Broadcast system automation upgrade at Star for 30+ channels. Upgrading Ingest, automation, playout and archiving systems supporting primary, backup and DR playout and mirrored archive systems. Architect and Project manager for the tapeless production upgrade and graphics system upgrade of the Newsroom at Star in Hong Kong. The completed system managed the entire news production workflow from feed ingest and script production through graphics, in studio prompting and package playout to air.Provided technical consultancy for Newsroom, Production and Transmission playout projects for Star Joint ventures in Taiwan, India and Indonesia. Designed the first interactive TV production gallery in India for Tata Sky Sports Active.

Managed and mentored a team of programmers, designing and implementing software systems to enhance the operation of the Broadcast System.Designed and managed the integration of the Music Scheduling System (RCS) with Star’s main Traffic System (Paradigm) for Ad Sales traffic integration and ancillary event scheduling for 3 pan Asian music channels.Completed design study and budgeting of a full file-based post production environment including the provision of Material Asset Management, Archiving and a Disaster Recovery backup system.Specified and oversaw the Ancillary Event Schedule Integration of Star's Traffic system (Paradigm) into the Broadcast System.Designed and managed the implementation of a fully integrated Ingest and Archive Management System for Star’s Broadcast Playout System.
