Initially I set out my working career in the Motor Trade. Working as a Valeter at my local BMW dealership, I soon set my eyes onto bigger goals and in 2007 I had completed an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Parts Operation. Completing NVQ levels 2 and 3 culminating in an overall Technical Certificate awarded at BMW Group academy in Berkshire. Later I changed role from Parts Advisor to Service team leader, also at Sytner Leicester BMW. I spent a number of years in this customer facing role in which still to this day remain as some of my most challenging as a working professional. I attended various courses from customer relations, to sales techniques, and had a long list of in-house roles and responsibilities. Something felt like it was missing towards the end of my career at Sytner Leicester BMW so decided to have a complete switch and try and new challenge in life. So I decided to join the Royal Marines slightly later in life at aged 28 in 2014. I then took a keen interest in Air Defence shortly after and completed an Air Defence course to transfer from General Duties/Infantry to Heavy Weapons Air Defence Troop. Since joining Air Defence I managed to get myself loaned out to a MAB environment and deploy with UKSF to Afghanistan. Qualified to fly commercial drones and also Military S2 class fixed wing drones with 300 hours “flight time” logged, making me one of the militaries most confident and competent RPAS pilots. Previously worked on Capability Development within a Short Range Air Defence environment. Researching and Testing drone and Anti-Drone equipment, including visiting test/demonstration days with manufacturers of the latest in drone warfare technology. All to be able to provide Air Defence against any air threat, be it a 249gram commercial drone all the way up to Manned Aviation, in the modern age of air warfare.New start and new challenges and commitments are under way with Inzpire as a UAS/RPAS instructor. Excited for the next chapter as a civilian but also to keep ties with the military and see how far we can go.!
