In this role I provided consulting services to Bariatric (weight loss surgery) Programs by providing a consulting assessment of their operations, finances, reimbursement, first patient contact to surgery tracking, bariatric tracking databases, demographic and marketing analysis. Services were provided to hospitals and private practice surgeon practices.Assessment findings were presented and options were given to correct deficiencies. Confidential consulting contracts were obtained when clients requested help to implement corrections.My specialty on the national consulting team was operations specialist and physician practice management consultant. As practice administrator of the multispecialty clinic for all employed physicians at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, I was responsible for a staff of 65 plus employees that include clinics, centralized billing and the hospitalist program. My responsibility included clinic operational efficiency for bariatric, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, pulmonology, geriatrics, physical therapy, internal medicine and neurology.My duties included; doctor relations, new doctor setup, coordination of new clinic office set up, staffing, payroll processing, clinic operations, patient flow, coordination of information systems, government and private entity coding/billing procedures, centralized physician billing operations and bariatric patient education oversight.My major accomplishment in this position was coordination of the bariatric center of excellence designation and having a key role in developing a physician billing department.

As the clinic administrator I managed a private practice bariatric and general surgery practice with 6 physicians and approximately 15 staff.I provided financial record keeping for each surgeon separately in additional to the overhead sharing entity of Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians. In this capacity for each entity, utilizing QuickBooks; I processed payroll, paid bills, deposited monies, and ran the overall finances for each doctor’s corporation.
