As an Air Force officer, I have served in a variety of acquisition assignments across a spectrum of space systems, fighters, bombers, munitions, airlift, tankers, special forces, and trainer programs. I have garnered program management, logistics, and test experience while performing tours in the Air Force Research Laboratory, an Air Logistics Center, two Product Centers, and the Air Staff. During this time, I participated in one of the Air Force’s most prominent and highest-priority acquisition programs, the KC-X refueling tanker modernization program. I was the first KC-46 Air Vehicle Flight Systems Integrated Product Team Chief. In addition, I gained valuable staff experience while working in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition. In this assignment, I was first the Program Element Monitor for Area Attack Weapons and then the B-1 bomber, where I served as the Air Force’s focal point for acquisition, programming, and budgeting issues. One of my most rewarding assignments was the opportunity to work with industry. I had the distinct honor of being one of only ten officers competitively selected Air Force-wide for the Education with Industry program. This program offers “select” officers each year the opportunity to embed with an industry partner and work as part of their team. Over the course of my year with the Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Company, I was able to complete job rotations on the F/A-22, F-16 Korean Program, and the F-35 fighter programs. This experience was invaluable as I team with industry partners over the years to acquire and deliver various weapon systems for our Air Force.
