Hi, I'm Darren David, and I help solve complex challenges through creative applications of technology. From my first encounter with a monochrome Apple ][ in 4th grade, I've been captivated by the transformational power of digital technology. As a highly sensitive empath, I'm deeply moved to action by the challenges and needs of others. I'm actively looking for ways to leverage my existing skill set in the field of climate solutions, in service of creating a brighter future for all of humankind.As lifelong entrepreneur driven by boundless curiosity, I've dedicated my career to mastering new technologies, skills, and disciplines to solve complex challenges through creative uses of technology. Over the past 30 years I have evolved my design and software development background to cultivate and refine methods for assembling, nurturing, and inspiring high-functioning creative and technical teams -- the kinds of teams that will develop the breakthroughs and innovations needed to solve our society's most urgent problems. I strive to lead these teams beyond their perceived limits in pursuit of big goals, providing the guidance, tools, and environment to succeed. I'm a highly effective communicator, adept at translating complex concepts and needs between disparate groups of stakeholders to build consensus and strong alliances. I thrive in unfamiliar territory and in the face of daunting challenges.In 2020, I founded Freetouch, a software solution providing touchless interactivity on shared displays. After nearly 15 years creating large-format touchscreen experiences for clients worldwide, when the pandemic hit, I identified an urgent need to provide a safe way for people to interact with these installations. I quickly pivoted our resources to developing a working prototype, and within 5 months we were in market with a solution. The software is used by a wide range of organizations, from museums and retailers to large brands like Coach and Facebook. A patent is currently pending. I'm highly motivated by planetary-scale problems, and I eagerly look towards opportunities to collaborate with teams who are addressing these challenges head on.
