A senior manager overseeing the YSB’s Community Services and Housing across the city of Ottawa. Responsible for providing leadership, development and direction of both short and long term plans as well as directing the staff, resources, finances and operations. Leading a team of approximately 100 dedicated and caring professionals who support thousands of youth and their families each year. Operating two youth homeless shelters, two transitional housing programs, drop-in and community youth engagement services as well as a housing portfolio of 135 affordable and supportive housing units across 6 buildings.

The Enhanced Supportive Housing Program opened in 2015. The focus of this new-build 34 unit apartment buildings is; housing long-term chronically homeless people with active substance use issues, physical health and mental health needs. Working for people with complex, co-occurring needs in a congregate setting in partnership with local medical and mental health providers provides an economy of scale that permits an intensity and level of onsite services to meet the level and intensity of resident needs. Outside of the box approaches to substance use and harm reduction, housing first application, peer engagement, housing loss prevention, and guiding principles of openness and truth about use and behaviours has created a community that thrives and explores what success means for each individual.
