Upon launch of NBC the product marketing team achieved 300+ individual press articles, 100’s of enterprise customers, over 70 IT distribution/reseller partners, and 2 mobile operator customer references. Played a key role in the integration of the Rooftop team into Nokia’s culture, communication methods, and processes. Jointly led the recruiting and establishment of R&D and manufacturing teams in Finland, Germany, Hungary, and Dallas, TX in which the NWR team grew from 20 to over 150 people. Owned the embedded software development, QA, and support of Wireless Routers, networks, and management software into hundreds of Internet Service Provider networks in the role of Director of Product Creation. Led customer engagements and trials with larger telecom customers in the U.S., Asia, and Europe. Moved to Helsinki, Finland in the role of Business Development Manager and led a cross-functional R&D, manufacturing, and services team in laying the groundwork for the first major telecom operator deployment in the U.K. Represented NWR at industry events and large customer engagements in Europe and Asia.

As the third employee and one of the three key managers, played a crucial role in Rooftop’s evolution from world-class wireless mesh networking technology to developing, selling, and deploying the Wireless Router solution into Internet Service Provider networks providing broadband internet acces to homes and SMB’s. Nokia acquired Rooftop in 1999 for $57m and retained all of Rooftop’s 20 employees. Led all customer engagements, trials, and network deployments, as well as embedded software development, QA, supplier relationships, and contract manufacturing. Jointly led network protocol development, product architecture, requirements, and specifications. Played a key role in all partner, venture capital, and M&A discussions.
