About Darren Leader

I am a graphic designer, researcher and educator. My Studio work specialises in visual identity and communication which is directed by typographic practice and study. The Studio portfolio features many projects from the sectors of heritage, education and the cultural arts.Working as Creative Director and Designer for Norfolk Network, I provide visual identity consultancy, graphic design and event promotion for their business speaker events. I also create event identity design and event promotion for lecture series events at University of East Anglia.My current research project is a study of the merchants' marks of Norwich, England, which reveals logo devices of traders and artisans during the 14th–16th centuries. These fascinating identities make some interesting connections to modern logo design practice. This project has culminated in the book, 'Logo Rewind: Trademarks of Medieval Norwich', and published by UEA Publishing Project, October 2023.
