Human Resources Manager
Current- Designed evidence based HR policies and programs for the organization; maintain unemployment compensation database and conduct quarterly Georgia Department of Labor (DOL) reimbursement audits- Leveraged a network of contacts, including senior leaders, operational teams, staff, peers, and fostered positive relationship with DOL related to employee separation information.- Interface with district leadership, including principals, program managers, and human resources staffing directors to obtain information on claimants work history for use in unemployment hearings. - Serve as the district representative for all unemployment related matters and Department of Labor hearings and communications. - Ensure that district unemployment compensation and employment eligibility practices remain in compliance with federal, state, and local legislation. - Manage the I-9 (E-Verify) Employment Eligibility Verification process. - Coordinate with human resources staffing directors on employment eligibility issues that arise.- Counsel with employees to resolve complex employment verification issues.- Develop a method of recording and maintaining up-to-date employment verification records.- Manage employee fingerprinting, identification badge issuance process, and the annual criminal background check process for all existing employees through which 20% of the employee population completes the criminal background check process each year.- Ensure new employees complete necessary fingerprinting/criminal background checks in compliance with state and federal regulations and district policy, including substitutes, temporary employees, and contingent workers.- Report company unemployment data to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, including Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) and Employment Cost Index (ECI) reporting.
