After the sale of MessageBuy in 2022, I went back to coaching basketball, a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. In 2023 I accepted a job as the Head Coach at Cary Academy Middle School, and our team (Gold, Div 2) had the best record in the school (boys or girls). We were undefeated at home, and won our last home game against the best and undefeated team (St Timothy's).After Cary Academy, I had the honor to become the Head Coach at Oberlin (formerly Daniels). I’m my first season we were best in our conference and in the entire state of NC. More than that the Lion Leadership values we teach transcended our team and had a positive impact upon the entire school. The first two were founded by brilliant leaders who I still cherish as mentors today. At MessageBuy, we provided patented text messaging software for Online Retailers. Our SaaS Text Message Commerce platform allowed retailers to engage with their consumers 1:1, upsell existing orders, and drive repeat purchases. We were acquired by Wunderkind out of New York in 2022.Prior to launching MessageBuy, I spent 8 years building etailinsights to be the leading provider of eCommerce data to over 1,000 customers (also SaaS). I now serve as the Chairman of the etailinsights board and assist the President to exceed quarterly business goals. My experiences at Bronto and etailinsights allowed me to become an expert in eCommerce, specifically the entire ecosystem and market trends, and I apply this expertise at MessageBuy.Prior to working on these four, I led investments into hundreds of other businesses while at BB&T and J&J. I've spent nearly 20 years working with B2B startup companies, specializing in leadership, strategic development, product development, enhancing client relationships, and maximizing revenue growth. Prior to starting my own companies, I learned from the best leaders while working at high performing startups. At one of those companies, I was promoted to lead all revenue for First Research, and we were eventually acquired by Hoover’s / Dun & Bradstreet. And most notable, I helped Bronto Software accelerate their revenue and market share to become the leading Email Service Provider in the eCommerce industry, with a later exit to Oracle. I am a proud graduate of the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University with a double major, including B.S.B.A.s in Management and Marketing.
