Life can be like a house. There are dreams to upgrade lighting or maybe update the bathroom with a clawfoot bathtub. Maybe the dream was to buy the home and tear it down to the frame and foundation to begin building the dream home from the existing strongest structural parts of the original home. As we manage difficulty, challenges can occur. Adapting to a challenge may result in a psychological toll and feel exhausting. I invite you to visit. I am inclusive and an LGBTQIA+ ally. My experience includes working extensively with children, adolescents, teens and families both traditional and blended. Working with young adults launching into the college experience. Provide individual, family, and group therapy to children ages 12-18 with severe behavioral, emotional and/or educational problems which prevent them from functioning effectively in mainstream school settings. Provide supportive services to adolescents in a mental health environment assisting in the development of social skills and coping skills to re-enter the school system and improve behavioral and emotional adjustment in the community. Reviews progress quarterly with a multidisciplinary team to identify appropriate level of care, formulate behavior modification strategies, coordinate discharge planning, and communicate documented evidence for continued need of service. Collaborate with families, school districts, education managers, and behavior paraprofessionals to identify appropriate levels of managed care. Provide emotionally escalated adolescents with verbal de-escalation. Assessment emotionally distressed adolescents to determine potential danger to self or others, and identify appropriate interventions according to lethality. Communicate weekly with families regarding progress, issues in treatment, and addresses the implementation of behavior strategies at home. Uphold regulations of confidentiality as ordered by the agency and HIPPA. Maintain client records and abide by Medicaid standards for best practices. Current caseload includes one residential client. Experienced includes Trauma Focus-Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive/Behavior therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Experiential Therapy, Theraplay techniques, and Client Centered Therapy.
