As an HVAC Superintendent I am tasked with overseeing our trade partners and self perform crews in the installation of HVAC equipment. It’s my responsibility to ensure we are working safely, efficiently, and with the utmost attention to detail to provide our customers with a quality product that functions as designed and meets local and state code requirements. I also work closely with our project management team to make sure we are staying on budget and scope. I am routinely reviewing plans, conducting safety walks, leading safety meetings with our trade partners, quality control check sheets and scheduling work with our trade partners as well as general contractors and our self perform crews.

As an HVAC Foreman I am tasked with leading our trade partners in the installation of HVAC equipment. It’s my responsibility to ensure we are working safely, efficiently, and with the utmost attention to detail to provide our customers with a quality product that functions as designed and meets local and state code requirements. Any and all other duties assigned to me by my superintendent. I am routinely reviewing plans, conducting safety walks, leading safety meetings with our trade partners, quality control check sheets and scheduling work with our trade partners as well as general contractors.

In Building Systems Maintenance and Controls our primary function is maintaining and repairing our campus wide controls system for VAV boxes, air handling units, and hydronic systems. We make repairs to dual duct systems, reheat systems, fan coils, fume hoods, exhaust fans, and our primary control system which is Metasys. We also still have quite a few pneumatic systems on campus which is our responsibility and I am familiar with. On a daily basis I am normally attending to hot and cold calls from all of our campus buildings as well as other properties owned by the University of Arkansas.I routinely work on variable air volume controllers such as the JCI line of VMA, VAV, and FEC controllers. I also have extensive experience with DX, and TEC controllers. I am proficient in the use of JCI Metasys software for troubleshooting system malfunctions in all of the systems mentioned above. I am also familiar with the JCI software CCT and HVAC Pro for programming a variety of different controllers and HVAC systems.I have lead 2 projects that included the replacement of the entire building controls system in order to switch from N2 trunks over to FC trunks, so we could upgrade these buildings to newer more modern controllers.In the 7 years I have been in my current job I have been to numerous job related trainings for controls, programming, VRF systems, and hydronic systems.In a leadership capacity it is also one my responsibilities to ensure that the apprentices that are going through our apprenticeship program are being trained properly in all things HVAC and controls related and that they maintain the level of safety this type of work requires.

In the plumbing/HVAC shop my primary role was service, maintenance, repair, and installation of all things HVAC/R related. This included walk in, reach in, and ultra low refrigeration, hydronic systems, pneumatic systems, fume hoods, growth chambers, air handling units, residential heating and air conditioning, fan coils, programing variable frequency drives and duct work. My work in this shop included split case, and vertical inline pump rebuilds, motor and pillow block bearing replacements, repair and maintenance of steam system components, summer/winter switchovers on 2 pipe systems, motor replacements and compressor replacements.My responsibilities in this position included assisting the plumbing crews, welding crews, and sheet metal crews with ongoing projects.In this position I also had the responsibility to train new employees, apprentice tradesman, and I was the safety coordinator for several years.
