I took a leave of absence from school to embark on an internship with the Product Consulting department at Tableau. In this 6 months, I was exposed to many new experiences. We (interns) had a very supportive team and were allowed to take charge of our own learning. There were opportunities to contribute in meetings/internal projects, and it was exciting to be learning everyday. I was given opportunities to build dashboards as proof of concept for higher management.Apart from customer-facing activities, I was also involved in a Sales Operations project, where we wanted to automate certain business processes. During the project, we evaluated RPA solutions and I built a few automated workflows on different platforms to test the feasibility of it.

I did a part-time internship through a semester in school, and joined the company at a very exciting time - 2 months before the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system went live. This allowed me to learn project management and communication skills. Apart from the ERP system, I was given a chance to participate in various projects such as: Introduction of new equipment to the Operations team; Re-modelling of point-of-sales (POS) operations.As I wanted to help the team transition and save reduce time needed for certain tasks, I created a solution for the team to save time required for creating and keeping track of all the product IDs.

I interned at the department that manages and re-positions empty containers in Asia, working with the logistics department in each country within the region. I was tasked with re-positioning of special containers into Japan, to ensure that it can meet their demands in a timely manner.As I was picking up excel skillsets, I also explored and learn to use macro to automate weekly reports and prepare necessary documents for the department.
