Darrin Davis, owner of Anacostia River Realty, has been successfully active in Washington, DC real estate for over a decade. Darrin was a top producing Realtor with Capitol Hill's Prudential Realtors. Darrin has a strong knowledge of the real estate market in both the southeast and northeast neighborhoods of Washington, DC. He has become a sought-after neighborhood real estate expert east of the Anacostia River. Referred to as a community leader, he is a vocal and active member of his community. He was recognized by Washington, DC's former mayor, Anthony Williams, as Main Street Anacostia's Volunteer of the year in 2004. He is affiliated with R.E.E.L. (River East Emerging Leaders) and a member of Ward 8 Democrats. Darrin currently serves as Vice-President for the Washington, DC Chapter of the Washington Real Estate Broker's Association. He was recently appointed to the Washington, DC Association of Realtors board of directors. He was also recently featured on HGTV and profiled in the Washington Business Journal.Darrin attended Howard University. He has held a District of Columbia substitute teaching license since 1999. Each month he gives back to his community by mentoring students at two District of Columbia's Public Schools; Anacostia's Orr Elementary and Capitol Hill's Maury elementary schools. Darrin has also been tapped to serve on the founding board of directors for the Washington, DC Public Charter School, Bertha B. Williams Academy.Darrin took a break from real estate in late 2007 and 2008 to become politically active in the Democratic Party. He worked for both U.S. Democratic Presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama's campaign. He spent the summer of 2008 in Alaska working on a U.S. Senate race.Inspired by Clinton's hard work-ethic and Obama's historic win, he returned to Washington, after the Nov. 2008 elections, and fulfilled his dream of opening his own real estate corporation, Anacostia River Realty.
