All processes were developed after dies were already built with little regard to industry manufacturing standards.• Established processes for complex parts with narrow process windows• Developed tooling on existing product to produce castings at acceptable scrap rates saving the company at least $150K each of the last 2 years.• Improved uptime on machines by making small, incremental changes to dies in collaboration with design and tooling departments• Partnered with process personnel to introduce troubleshooting guide by defect to increase the technicians ability to respond without “waiting for someone”• Reduced cost of shot components by extending life, changing materials, and implementing better preventative maintenance practices, saving the company at least $150K per year in component costs over the last 2 years.• Developed simple system for counting production parts produced that reduced occurrences of reporting errors by more than 90%. Errors were costly because they frequently required unscheduled die changes.
