The HSEQ Advisor is the subject matter expert providing sound advice, guidance and support to business units related to Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental programs. This position is responsible for a variety of initiatives including but not limited to the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures, and injury prevention programs, WCB, and disability claims management and providing recommendations and advice to the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JOHSC).

- Owner and operator of Northern Guardian Inspections.- Over 200 residential and commercial inspections are completed annually. Experience working in remote northern communities. - Advanced drone pilot performing aerial inspections on various types of infrastructure.- Certified thermographer.- Work closely with First Nations governments while performing annual inspections and capital housing assessments to triage repairs and apply for territorial and federal funding.- Inspector in good standing with the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) and the Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors.- Certified Master Inspector.- National Certificate Holder.- Registered Home Inspector.

- Worked in Capital Development and Maintenance as well as Community Partnering and Lending.- Technical lead on all YHC lending and grant programs with a large and diverse client base and a$6 million budget.- Part of a team that created policy on new lending and grant programs for the territory.- Performed annual inspections on YHC properties (500 in Whitehorse alone, 400 in the communities).- Responded to housing and building emergencies throughout the territory, liaising with local and out of town contractors to complete tasks.- Project manager on YHC building upgrades and retrofits.- Technical lead on YHC Housing Initiative Fund to produce low-income housing throughout the territory.
