As the CIO, I serve in the executive capacity as the director of all information technology and enterprise solutions functions. This position assumes full management responsibility for all departmental programs, services, personnel, and activities, as well as providing leadership in the development/implementation of information technology initiatives. This role ensures the department provides optimal cost effectiveness and high quality services to address the City’s business development and operational needs. Plans, develops, organizes and directs a comprehensive information technology program, including areas of personal computers, computer hardware and software, computer networks systems, client servers, office automation, enterprise solutions, and hosted applications.

Provides leadership in directing, planning, managing, and implementing the information technology needs of the City of Greensboro. Provides oversight and management of several divisions which includes Administrative, Application Services, GIS, Network Services and Public Safety IT. Establishes guidelines and programs for effective information technology management. Facilitates and implements City-wide strategic policy for planning, development, and deployment of information technology.

Repaired, installed, configured and maintained PC’s, servers, modems and other communication equipment. Installed and designed network and data communication circuits. Managed setup and installed communication equipment which included mid-range servers, communications equipment, VAX systems and PC’s.Key Achievements:•Designed and installed the wiring and communications infrastructure for student registration•Established redundant communication links to remote sites •Developed and planned the communications infrastructure for campus computer labs
