Achievements include the following, 1) Successful integration of the manufacturing facility into the Essity organisation. 2) Avoided redundancy whilst maintaining efficiencies when dealing with a factory closure impacting 15% of our volumes. 3) Excellent progress made in the development of a safety culture. 4) Formulation and Implementation of a reward and recognition program. 5) Installing the culture of continuous improvement across all functions. 6) Formulate and implement the first ever site specific 3 year strategic plan.

The balance of the operations' director portfolio was added to my finance and supply chain responsibilities. These additional responsibilities included production, engineering, quality assurance & regulatory affairs, risk, and outbound logistics. Some of the more notable achievements during my tenure included, 1) Implemented manufacturing footprint optimization project of R50m timeously and within budget. 2) Formulated and implemented sales and profitability strategies that delivered CAGR of 10% and 11% respectively. 3) Formulated and implemented BBBEE strategy that improved accessibility and performance on government tenders. 4) Successfully insourced outbound logistics for BSN and a sister company which delivered savings of R8m p.a. and significant service level improvements. 5) Successfully applied for the addition of a new customs tariff line with duty in place for a product range manufactured in our facility.
