In the role of Sales & Marketing, I am primarily responsible for the development of new sales, with an emphasis on expanding our market share in the U.S. I work with the ownership team to plan and execute sales and marketing initiatives, including creating content for and maintaining all aspects of digital and traditional marketing. I am also involved in developing brand standards, which included the creation of a new brand for this company as we enter our 30th year of business. This initiative required the design of a new logo, all new marketing materials and a new website, which is in progress now. As part of streamlining our sales process, I have also been engaged in setting up our salesforce platform and ensuring it is effective for our organization. In my project coordinator role, I am responsible for the coordination of all of our construction projects as well as many of our service/technical projects. Duties include: working with clients, general contractors, sub-trades and suppliers, organizing all documentation from all project stakeholders, tracking and logging submittals, RFIs, site instructions, change orders (incl. pricing) and productivity, communicate any issues to stakeholders, purchasing material and equipment, work with PM and Field Operations Manager to develop solutions to site issues, monitor and report on project financials, and complete project close out documentation. In addition to my PC role, I am the lead on many business development initiatives, with a focus on developing our marketing and sales message and materials as well as being involved with corporate strategy. I spearheaded the re-development our service division’s brand with a new program name and logo that is now implemented company wide. I also have developed and implemented many procedures and processes to improve the operations of the company, including implementing a digital safety app for the field and implementing a CRM for our sales and marketing initiatives.

In the position of Project Manager in the Structural division, my focus was on construction steel, or beamwork. Within this newer subdivision I was responsible for developing processes and procedures for an array of activities. This involved processes for receiving material, purchasing, fabrication, completions, quality control and logistics. Besides creating these processes, my daily tasks were heavily focused on organizing my project's mass amount of information into usable knowledge from the shop floor level to upper management. I was responsible for ordering materials and organizing their logistics of getting to the various shops, organizing the labour for the job and which shop we should build it at and negotiating timelines surrounding that, ensuring quality controls were in place to match our customer's expectations and above all I was responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction. On top of these responsibilities, I was also heavily involved in the RFQ stage of projects. I often assisted the estimator in developing costs for projects and reviewing drawings to ensure we caught everything we needed to. I also developed an intuitive estimate spreadsheet to help reduce our bid turnaround timeline and therefore allow us to quote better and faster.

I was a member of a 13 person team of third year Business Administration students who consulted for two local companies experiencing real-life problems. This intensive course/experience was worth double credits and was supported by two faculty advisers, Rhonda Payne and Mike Tucker.

Starting as a dishwasher in Grade 9, I worked my way through multiple roles at this family restaurant including: bussing tables, serving, prep cook and line cook. I worked here part time all through highschool, working full-time in the summers including 2 summers throughout college. I also worked full-time during a year off inbetween college and university.
