The association has organised donations, sponsorship and part time employment for people for young people through to adults who due to their economic circumstances would not of otherwise had the opportunity to join or participate in a wide range of sports. For direct financial donations to allow young people to participate, the approach has been a unique one in that the donations were conditional on the young person not being aware of the donation. The donations made directly to the parents of the young person on the condition that the young person was not made aware that the money came from a donation, it was confidential and that it was from the parents or family themselves. Economically disadvantaged youth often suffer enough from social stigma associated with their situation, the knowledge that they could only participate due to charity can exacerbate the situation. There are many sports where young adults commit to representing their city, region, state or country yet the association, club or even professional team does not have the income to support them. This is especially the case in athletics and most women's sports. Salaries for "professional" female athletes can be as low as $2,000 a season. For track and field athletes, touch players and many others, there are no salaries. By the time these athletes have reached adult hood it is likely that their families have already expended large sums of money to get them there. By finding sponsors and flexible part time employment, the association can help people excel in their field without living in abject poverty to do so. The majority of people who participate in high level sports do so in sports that do not provide an income and often do not even provide sufficient funds to cover the direct costs of participation. We also have the benefit of volunteers who donate legal, accounting or financial advice to those whose chosen sport doesn't provide sufficient funds to allow them to pay for it.
