I serve as a managing director for an impact-driven consulting firm that believes in the transformative power of education and work-based learning to improve social and economic mobility for communities that have been marginalized or historically underserved. I am focused specifically on the career and competitive learning for these underserved populations and developing partnerships to improve outcomes.

Greater Seattle Area

As the country's largest charitable organization, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation invests significantly in education efforts. In this role, I led engagement and collaboration with grantees on issues of measurement, evaluation, and use of data in our investments. I created tools and training to help colleagues make use of data to make decision and to achieve our strategy goals. Further, I managed contracts and grants focused on improving measurement, learning , and evaluation efforts, most notably for the Networks for School Improvement portfolio but also collaborating across the entire US Program division.

Greater Atlanta Area

In this role, I led five departments that were organized to monitor student and organization outcomes, chiefly through the development of a five-year strategic plan. I supervised efforts to improve the effectiveness of local school governance councils and aligned their efforts with the district strategic plan. I also oversaw the efforts to improve the districts data systems, data structure, and data culture through the selection of a new assessment system and student information system.

I began working here as one of two Strategic Data Fellows, collaborating with the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard to produce analyses about students' college-going trends and human capital analysis of the teacher workforce. Further, I worked on multiple research projects centered on policy analysis and program evaluation, which notably led to several district-led randomized control trials and peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, I contributed to the development of the district's five-year strategic plan and improving data governance efforts.

I managed principal interns' leadership development in pursuit of their elementary, middle, and high school principal licensure through evaluating student projects, meeting with mentor principals, and principal coaches. I also trained principal interns and experienced school leaders in the basics of qualitative and quantitative methods and relevant research in education. Further provided professional development for over 200 school leaders and teams across the country charged with the challenge of creating effective schools.

Served as a resource with student scheduling, college counseling, and sponsor of the National Mathematics Honor Society for an urban public high school. Redesigned the sequence of courses for the International Baccalaureate Program. Led a math team that ranked in the top 5 nationally for multiple years.
