Contracting as the Head of Software Asset Management for Rand Merchant Bank, current responsibilities include providing compliance oversight for all software assets and managing assets within the organization. This includes managing and optimizing the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization and disposal of software applications. Key operational responsibilities include team management, business engagement, vendor management, preparing and delivering reports to various stakeholders and providing subject matter guidance to the organization.Additionally, the role carries a transformational mandate and in this context I am responsible for the development of new processes and improvements for existing processes, analyzing multiple complex data sets to form standardized reporting methodologies, on-boarding data into the software asset management toolset and providing strategic direction for Software Asset Management within the organization.

As a contractor to Rand Merchant Bank, I was involved in various process improvement initiatives, project management, stakeholder engagement and documentation initiatives and projects within the technology area of the bank.

My key responsibilities include:- Structural engineering- Complex design and analysis problems- Site inspection and supervision- Project, team and budget management- Business process and system implementation

I have participated in various consulting projects in the nuclear, hydroelectric, mining and commercial industries, covering a wide variety of topics. These include the seismic margin assessment of a nuclear power plant in response to the events at Fukushima Daiichi in March 2011 and the assessment of materials used in a new hard rock gold mining method. Skill, roles and responsibilities I have developed include:Finite Element Analyses, including linear elastic, natural frequency, harmonic response, time domain, non-linear and non-linear materials.Failure, fatigue and buckling analyses.Structural assessments and inspections.Implementation and development of measurement technologies for stress, strain, displacement and temperature measurements.Laboratory and full scale load tests.Problem solving and solution development.

I tested various composite materials and adhesives from different suppliers with a view towards improved quality and cost effectiveness. My role included project management and process improvement functions.
