This is being done through the development of the Protocol Carbon Footprint Register.The Register supports all reporting programs and provides comprehensive, accurate data which can be used for benchmarking purposes to become a national asset eventually.The CPSA sponsors and is actively involved with organising the Climate Change Leadership Awards (CCLA) which is now established as a high calibre event.There are six Private Sector categories as well as Community and Climate Hero awards. Entries have increased three fold from the inaugural event in 2010.At the beginning of March 2011 I attended The ICLEI Climate Solutions for Africa Congress where the main theme was Africa’s level of Adaptive Capacity. A highlight was attending the Mayoral Roundtable to discuss meaningful solutions and structures at the Local Municipality level.With assistance from the board of directors I manage the daily activities of the organisation which the majority of the time includes building membership, providing support to GHG Assessors and assisting carbon project stakeholders.
