Project Title: Networks for Change & Well-being: Girl-led ‘from the ground up’ policy making to address sexual violence in Canada & South AfricaProject Summary: This 6 year $2.4 million project, funded through a partnership of SSHRC and IDRC focuses on the global health issue of Sexual Violence working with vulnerable populations of Indigenous girls and young women in Canada and South Africa. The project focuses on participatory arts based and media making approaches to identifying the issues, building in particular on artful productions such as exhibitions and cellphilms to reach -- and engage -- parents, community makers and policy makers. The project builds on the idea of ‘girl groups’ [in some cases groups of girls and boys ] in the two countries with work in Canada in BC [headed up through the Sisters Rising project at University ty of Victoria), Treaty6 Saskatoon, Eskasoni and Rankin Inlet; and in South Africa in 2 sites in Eastern Cape and 2 sites in KwaZulu-Natal.Objectives:To assist in providing ‘on the ground’ support for organizing an international event Imbizo Intergenerational (June 29-July 3) which will bring together girls and young women from Canada and South Africa;To assist in developing a social media plan related to the event, including contributions to the website, the use of twitter and facebookTo contribute to the actual delivery of the girl-led participatory programming of the Imbizo Intergenerational event, particularly in the context of supporting the girls travelling from Canada.To support data collection at the time of the girl-led participatory programming of the Imbizo Intergenerational event.To contribute to the writing of the report from the Imbizo Intergenerational event.McGill Global Health Scholar supported by the John Locke Churchill Scholars Award

Now in its 28th year, SSUNS continues to grow and innovate, hosting over 1300 high school and Cégep students from across the world.

ECOLE is a model of urban sustainable living and a physical hub for the McGill and Montreal sustainability communities. As a facilitator, I work on creating opportunities for collective growth through training, experiential learning, and initiatives. UNGA Special Session: The Rights of the Child, McMUN 2020Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee, McMUN 2019The McGill Model United Nations Assembly is a highly anticipated student-run conference held in the heart of downtown Montreal, Quebec since 1989. Celebrating its 31st iteration this year, McMUN operates as one of the most prestigious initiatives of its kind in Canada and ranks among the top academic events at McGill University. As the largest collegiate Model United Nations conference in Canada and the third largest in North America, McMUN holds a 500-strong staffing base and attracts over 1600 delegates from around the world to participate in lively debate. For the past 31 years, McMUN has inspired innovation in the leaders of tomorrow, strengthened student engagement and awareness on global issues and has challenged our participants through realistic and creative debate.

-Organized 10 weekly workshops through arts-based projects for asylum-seeking children from the Residence Y and Royal Victoria Hospital (Partnered with the McGill Art Hive Initiative, Byenvini and the Community Garden of Education) -Designer and Photographer of Published Book Art Connecting: Workshops for Children of Asylum Seeking Families

-Aggregated data collected from past and current social media platforms, created a fan base and improved audience engagement on Instagram (by 20 times) and Facebook (by 6 times)-Created merchandise and social media content through photography and videography

-Responsible for designing and sending out social media campaigns for community audience-Organize events for elderly homes and hospitals to volunteer at the Montreal General Hospital

-Responsible to lead publicity campaigns for all services-Represent the ISA to organizations in the greater Montreal community-Organized Annual Diwali Ball, Bollywood Night and Henna Night-Actively worked towards acquiring new sponsors by preparing the sponsorship package- Work with the VP Sponsorship and VP Finance in organizing regular meetings with sponsors and presenting progress updates on the state of funding in relevant meetings before an event- Work with the VP Sponsorship to maintain clean, updated, coherent records of all sponsor meetings and the database of sponsor contact information; communicate and update the ISA Receipt Book that will hold the record of all received monetary sponsorships; and follow up with sponsors after events
