I have over 35 years in the tech industry, with a total of 23 of those years at startups. For the past 8 years my focus has been on AI, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing.As the Senior Software Engineering Manager at Nuix, I lead a brilliant team working on the cutting edge of natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning. In this role, I also wear many hats which includes software developer, tech ops, and system ops. My primary strengths encompass security, deep learning, AI, and cognitive computing.As the CTO of Topos Labs I played a crucial role in the creation of the startup's core tech, creation of a robust scalable AI platform, and managing a geographically dispersed development team. In 2021, Nuix acquired Topos Labs.I have been a key contributor to three successful security startups; Dejavu Networks, Imperfect Networks, and Synthetic Networks – acquired by IBM, Spirent Corporation and Agilent Corp. respectively. Each of these companies played a major role in identifying and solving key security challenges and created revenue in excess of two billion dollars. Notably, using the technology developed by Dejav Networks, I led a team that placed 1st or 2nd four years in a row in the coveted DEVCON forensic contest, the only team ever to do that in the organization’s history.
