Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Information Technology and Biotechnology is one of the most important wings of Bharati Vidyapeeth University in Pune, India, dedicated to providing budding scientists and researchers with a solid base in a range of Biotechnology fields like Medical Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Sciences. Department of Bioinformatics located in RGITBT, provides foundational and Masters courses/degrees for students interested in pursuing pure Bioinfornmatics fields. Darshit was part of the Department, as a faculty member, assisting Head of the Department with curating and dispensing course lectures, practicals, and software training, in the fields of Bioinformatics and Computational Aided Drug-Design. During his time at the Department of Bioinformatics, he also collaborated and worked on a project that was dedicated to uncoiling the bacterial diversity through metagenomic profiling of freshwater bodies in an urban cit centre of India.
