About Darya Petrov

My name is Darya Petrov, but I go by Dasha. I am a second year Ph.D. student in the Department of Statistics at University of Washington in Seattle. I've had various teaching experiences, and am grateful for each and every one of them. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of brainstorming effective ways to explain difficult concepts to students. Prior to moving to Seattle, I graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor's in statistics and a minor in computer science. My emphasis for my bachelor's was in machine learning. At UC Davis I was introduced to topological data analysis (TDA), and since then I've been captivated by the idea of utilizing geometric properties of data to solve statistical problems.
