Art Schism is an artists co-operative studio and gallery in Brighton's North Laine area. Starting as a pop up shop it is now a hub providing opportunities for local established and up and coming artists to show their work and gain experience within the arts and creative industries.

Working freelance as a youth arts worker, I run workshops and community projects aimed at showing disadvantaged young people creative options to expressing themselves and creating visual art.Work to date has included creating large scale murals, group sessions on drawing and painting as expression and more recently a summer arts college project using visual arts to address literacy and numeracy problems.Using art as a basis, it helps to bridge gaps in learning methods and build relationships with vunerable youth to help them to accept and understand fundamental community skills and further their understanding of working processes within project management.
