Responsible for the manufacture, distribtution and redistribution of construction-related products to four separate customer channels. Span of control included vendor selection and development, receiving, manufacturing conversion, and shipping.

Self-employed as a consultant specializing in manufacturing assessments, transformation plans, and integration of business operating systems steeped in continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Responsibilities for the supply chain segments involving raw material procurement, the manufacture of, and the purchase of manufactured goods, and the distribution of $300 MM of those consumer products. Customer channels served included retail, industrial distribution and direct sales. Principally responsible for 300+ direct and indirect associates making the change to a culture of continuous improvement by lean tool applications in all operational/transactional processes.

Job entailed running to closure two existing plants and combining the operations into a Greenfield start-up plant in another state. Once the transfer was done, responsibilities changed to Plant Manager of the new plant. The new-plant team consisted of 250 salaried and hourly associates working collectively in a new plant designed with state-of-the-art material flow characteristics. The closing plant and the opening plant served as a Tier I supplier of frames and body components (welded, stamped assemblies) to Ford, Nissan, DCX, and GM.

This job entailed transforming the plant by applying the "total lean tool kit". During the tranformation, all leaders changed from a conventional operational structure to a Lean structure with Value Stream teams. My role as both Operations Manager and Change leader was to lead the installation of a Future State that had the foundational infrastructure of standard work, pull, visual management, value stream mapping, material and information flow systems, organized problem-solving and an active kaizen schedule/plan.
