I have worked 39 years in the building and maintenance industry, ranging from residential, commercial and industrial construction, to zoological and facilities maintenance.I am experienced in residential construction, commercial and industrial construction as a carpenter, foreman/ supervisor involving co-generators, super heaters, sulfur burners heat recovery systems and acid plants, including building roller coasters and guest areas of Busch Gardens for a contractor prior to working for Anheuser-Busch.I began working for Busch Gardens, Tampa in 1995. I spent 6 years in zoo maintenance to include carpentry, masonry, welding, and roofing repairs in all animal habitats and enclosures.I received a promotion and spent 6 years as a Park Service Maintenance Supervisor directly involved in routine maintenance to include carpentry, roofing, welding, masonry and contract related work. I received another promotion to manager of facilities maintenance in the same department with additional responsibilities of the paint shop, zoo maintenance and compost/refuse departments. I covered scopes of work and contractors compliance to warranties I was promoted to my current position in 2018 as Director of Plant Engineering, with 24 years of service at Busch Gardens Tampa, with an added responsibilities of Vehicle and Tram maintenance.Success comes from respecting employees, working with them, knowing and understanding what work-related issues they deal with. As leaders, we must help conclude a resolution beneficial to all involved. Knowing the work employees perform, and having problem solving skills to work out a solution in the most cost and labor effective manner while keeping safety as an utmost priority.
