Commercial Finance focused role responsible for the planning and execution of Budgets, Quarterly forecasts and 5 year strategic planning, as well as aiding the Commercial team in understanding the profitability of our brands, categories and countries.

Responsible for all financial planning activities, margin improvement projects, communication with YUM offices around the world on various topics including best practices and shared learnings for the African Pizza Hut business.

• Overall Pricing Strategy for SAB, which entails working on different pricing scenarios and presenting these to the board for approval. • For budget and other pricing scenarios, a new tool was created with two colleagues in the team that allows the PRGM team to accurately model different pricing scenarios to be presented to the Business Unit Leadership for approval, as well as multiple levels of data (monthly, quarterly, yearly pricing by SKU, brand, pack etc).• New Product Development (NPD) – ensuring the new products that are to be launched are done so at the correct price to maximize volume and ensuring that it is margin accretive. This entails working on a project team and advising on cannibilisation assumptions as well as ensuring the correct price point is assigned in conjunction with all project team members.• Calculating cannibalisation for both new (target cannibilisation) and current (actual cannibilisation) packs• Project work – such as looking at the pack strategy of the business to seek opportunities for new packs to be launched or performing an extensive portfolio cannibalization overview, as well as assisting both internal and external requests for packaged data.• Updating pricing tables for all classes of trade (COT) as well as ensuring that prices have been correctly loaded in SAP and reflect correctly in the SAP price lists.• Using assumptions, estimating competitor prices and margins based on actual data from stores.

• Planning: Running and/or assisting of the company wide budget and forecasting process • Flash - I was responsible for bringing together the monthly flash reporting pack for the MDC (Managing Director Committee).• Preparation of various decks for the FD (Finance Director) for presentations to the MDC as well as to Finance Director forums, Africa hub as well as PLC.• Preparation of the quarterly STI (Short Term Incentive) bonus tracker for the MDC. This is a key piece of work as it illustrates clearly to the directors on the status of the key goals that drive the annual STI bonus for them as well as the entire company. • FP&A team ensures that financial planning processes are optimised to reduce the amount of time taken to complete, make the detail fit for purpose and to ensure the process enables the right decision making at the right time. This entailed detailing the current ‘end-to-end’ process of each function and then deciding on ways to improve this process by either centralizing, optimizing the systems used or assisting the teams on potential better ways of working.• Ad hoc - we are a key function when it comes providing ad hoc data and analysis to all functions in the business. Key to this is collating of data and then assimilating this into an easily understandable format for the end user. Examples include:o Preparing models for Strategy department that show the effect on margin if different factors are changed, such as bottle size, alcohol content etc.o Pulling volume data from various sources
