Gumala Enterprises Pty Ltd (GEPL) is a 100% Traditional Owner community-owned business operating in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.GEPL currently consists of three divisions: Gumala Contracting, delivering bulk earthworks packages up to $15Mil in it's own right; under a 70/30 JV agreement with Georgiou the GGJV has completed bulk earthworks packages in excess of $70Mil in the Pilbara. ESS Gumala Joint Venture (40% interest); Karijini Eco Retreat. In recent times we have further diversified the company in the following sectors; Design and Construct and Light Vehicle maintenance .Reporting to the board my overall mandate is to ensure the business safely delivers a financial and social return to the Gumala community.

Responsible for the overall leadership, management and safety of Conneq’s Industrial and Resources business in WA. Leadership and management of branches at Newman, Port Hedland and Karratha. These branches carry out minor SMP projects (<$1Mil), planned shut-down mechanical and electrical maintenance activities and scaffolding services, each with a small fabrication capability.Leadership of the Perth based projects group, this group carries out civil, electrical and mechanical SMP ‘brown and greenfield’ type projects (<$15Mil) mainly in the mining and ports sectors, both lump sum and alliance style contracts.Overall leadership and responsibility for the support functions for the WA business ie HR, HSEQ, Finance and Business Development.

Leadership and management of the Power division of BBS, the business mainly carried out overhead and underground power reticulation construction, HV switching, network maintenance and emergency response work for the utility owners in the Transmission, and Distribution sectors. This business unit also competed with the utility owner in the private sector for the design and installation of underground residential distribution (URD) in new residential and commercial subdivisions. Responsible for the growth of the communications division within the ‘Power’ business, overseeing the construction a major portion of the Optus fibre network. Provider of on-going maintenance and emergency response. Communications division also expanded to incorporate design and construction capabilities for ElectraNet’s telecommunications requirements.
