I have a Master of Educational Technology and Curriculum Design, a General Studies Degree, with an Elementary Generalist Minor, am a fully certified British Columbia and Alberta Teacher with an International ESL Teaching Certificate and 23+ years of success as an innovative classroom teacher with a reputation for developing curriculum, programs, and activities to advance student achievement. Further, I have 15+ years in educational administration as an effective Principal, Deputy Head of School, and Vice Principal. As the attached CV indicates, I have previously enjoyed the opportunity to teach in South Korea and in Qatar as a Deputy Head of School for Blyth Academy, from 2020 to 2023. I am currently the principal of the famous Kugluktuk High School in Nunavut. I am an experienced classroom instructor, teaching Math, Science, Physical Education, Career/Personal Planning, Art and Language Arts curricula to grades three through ten and a curriculum developer with extensive experience in revising curriculum for grades K-12 and developing specialized curricula/programs to enhance educational experiences for gifted and at-risk students. I have worked with diverse student populations and harnessed community resources to provide courses, seminars, after school programs, and field trips that peak student interest and broaden horizons.As an administrator and teacher leader, I have mentored/developed teachers and support staff, I have collaborated with parents to ensure a strong home-school connection that benefits students and have administered program budgets/daily activities for educational institutions.
