Led building through a highly transitional year, integrating new staff members (25% new to building) while implementing Covid-19 safety protocols and establishing a school culture consisting of both in person and online students. Modified MTSS program to meet protocols while still providing maximum student support. Worked with school and district leadership to develop and implement a clear vision focused on teacher collaboration and STEM initiatives. Promoted hands on learning experiences including staff wide professional development in Project Based and Service Learning. Led efforts to expand engineering and coding curriculum to elementary schools in South Dearborn, wrote and received grants from a variety of sources to support implementation of Project Lead The Way, Project Based Learning, VEX Robotics, and Digital Learning. Collaborated with staff to develop and implement a school wide instructional model and Multi Tiered System of Support (MTSS), helping to ensure consistent quality instruction. Worked closely with Director of Curriculum, principals, and teachers to update district curriculum map to match changing state accountability systems, analyzing data from summative and formative assessments to identify areas in need of adjustment.

Worked with various members of the JCD Educational Community to enact positive change and increase opportunities for all students. Established dual enrollment program for Juniors and Seniors, partnering with Ivy Tech in Batesville and working with the school board to pay tuition, reducing barriers for students. Collaborated with guidance department to increase enrollment in Career Tech Ed courses by 40% over two years and increase graduation rates from 77% to 93%, leading to the highest graduation rates JCD has had in more than ten years. Developed behavior and intervention programs which reduced failures for the targeted population by 75% and school-wide suspensions by 66%. Worked with teachers to better understand and utilize data to drive instruction. Implemented weekly PLC meetings to increase teacher collaboration focused on increasing rigor and student engagement. School Designated as a School To Watch in 2018 by the Indiana Middle Level Educators Association for exhibiting excellence in the areas of Academic Excellence, Developmental Responsiveness, Social Equity, and Organizational Structures and Processes. School letter grade went from a 68 (D) in 2014-15 to a 92 (A) in 2017-18.

As Assistant Principal at LMS, I worked with the administrative team to significantly increase the use of data throughout the school in order to improve student achievement at all levels. This systematic change resulted in an increase in both pass rate and student growth and helped LMS earn an A rating from the DOE for the 2013-14 school year, after earning a D two out of the previous three school years. Worked with teachers and Curriculum Director to establish Curriculum Maps for the district. Additionally, I led a successful effort to have LMS designated as a School To Watch in 2015.
