Westlake Chemical is one of the largest and most diversified manufacturers of vinyl and specialty chemicals in North America. As Technical Superintendent I am responsible for the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of the process control system and the engineering support staff. With over 30 years of experience in managing, programming, and maintaining process control systems on various DCS platforms, I have developed an expertise in plant automation and process engineering. I have successfully implemented and migrated complex projects involving Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, ABB, Allen Bradley, and GE products. During the Plant Turnaround of 2023 we migrated to Experion R511 on a virtualized server and workstation platform. Making Calvert City the first North American Westlake VCM facility to be virtualized. I have also gained operational experience in a variety of processes, such as pyrolysis furnaces, cryogenic refrigeration, direct chlorination reactors, oxychlorination reactors, acetylene hydrogenation, C1 - C6 distillation and HCL / VCL distillation.
