The main duties of this role require me to remain versatile to continuous change and development. The main duties and responsibilities are as follows: Manufacturing Engineering department representative in a number of high-level meetings; i.e. Engineering Design Change Control Board (CCB), Impact Analysis Review (IAR) and attending Kaizen workshops improving change control processes. Liaising with Design, Quality, Value Stream and Project Managers to investigate and resolve any queries or outstanding actions. Creating and improving interdepartmental processes, SOPs and Engineering documents to help minimise non value added tasks Driving continuous improvement within the department; building semi-automated systems to increase task efficiency to producing approval status KPIs, building custom macros and excel power queries to improve data accuracy and reduction of production related waste and enhanced communication and visualisation of data; i.e. generation and processing of Rework instructions (RWI) through to job card creation.

In terms of daily roles, the lead PME role primarily consists of the following:● Managing a team of 7 to perform daily PME tasks, push for continuous improvement amongst the team and to be the point of contact for further queries or assistance. These duties include delegation project specific tasks/queries to each team member and ensuring that KPIs are monitored. ● Leading the PME team and acting as the Manufacturing Engineering department representative in a number of high level meetings; i.e. Change Control Board (CCB) and Production Readiness Review (PRR). ● Liaising with Design, Quality, Value Stream and Project Managers to investigate and resolve any outstanding actions. ● Creating and improving interdepartmental processes, SOPs and Engineering documents. ● Driving continuous improvement within the department; Building macros to improve efficiencies of processes, improving data accuracy to produce and drive KPIs.

Daily roles/ Key achievements are as follows: ● Establishing an MRP/costing database, which lead to accurate make/buy decisions ● Educating and phasing-in Engineering Revision control within the engineering/ production teams ● Creating and submitting Purchase Orders with product/raw material suppliers ● Review new designs to ensure critical design principles have been met ● Setting up product testing for in-house manufactured products ● Liaise with clients and review site specifications and requirements for prototype product installs.

Job role tasks include:● Identifying, investigating and re-designing current design/ build issues. ● Engineering representative for MRB non conforming parts:reducing build issues, waste and improving quality. ● Originator of the first in-house composite production line to produce structural honeycomb assemblies, saving significant costs,reducing lead time and improving overall product quality. ● Investigating and testing new cosmetic finishes to improve customer choice availability. ● Logical thinking and hands on ability to create immediate engineering fixes to help continue production line flow and therefore following up with design changes and product improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities: Within this role I was trained to design new and develop existing parts and assemblies. As a design engineer various key skills were utilized; Job tasks included: ● Design of sheet metal,plastic and machined components ● Design of sub-assemblies and complex multilevel product structures ● Creation and modification of technical drawings. ● Releasing Engineering Query Requests for piece parts and assemblies on MRP and PLM database systems.
