Greater Atlanta Area

• Represent the FAA Air Traffic Safety Oversight Service (AOV) as an air traffic safety inspector. Conduct routine surveillance of 15 Eastern Service Area (ESA) and Central Service Area (CSA) Service Delivery Points via direct-observation of air traffic operations to assess procedural safety and effectiveness; identify noncompliance issues; and, recommend trend reversal actions to AOV management and ATO counterparts to achieve desired results. • Review Safety Risk Management Document (SRMD) requests from ATO within the Eastern Service Area. Utilize Safety Management System (SMS) guidance and Risk Based Decision Model tools and techniques to recommend AOV course of action. Recommend approval, acceptance and/or concurrence to leadership.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

• Validated FAA Air Traffic Organization (ATO) safety related processes used for introduction of new separation standards and modification of existing separation standards. Recommended approval of new standards, waivers, extension and modification of existing waivers. Analyzed and authorized controls used by the ATO to mitigate hazards; and, participate in operational review and analysis of information pertaining to the ATO employees, operations and new programs and equipment, including those introduced by the Next Generation (NextGen) Air Transportation System and UAS.• Managed and oversaw FAA Air Traffic Control Credentialing and Control Tower Operator Certificate Programs. Developed and amended regulations and guidance for regulatory oversight and credentialing functions of Air Traffic Control. Collaborated with Department of Defense to integrate certified controllers into the Credentialing and Control Tower Operator Certificate Program.

Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam

Pacific Air Force’s air traffic control (ATC) functional liaison and subject matter expert to Pacific Command, four Numbered Air Forces, and 13 ATC facilities. Provided managerial, training, and operational oversight to 317 personnel. Established plans and provided resources in support of contingency operations and 10 large force exercises. Analyzed, evaluated and assured compliance with Federal Aviation Administration, US Air Force, and Pacific Air Force’s regulatory guidance during USAF Airfield Operations Certification/Inspector General Inspections.
